Quality Coordinator (m/f)

Job Description

  • Coordinate calibration of internal measuring / assembly equipment in required time frame and update internal calibration system for the Merstham site.

  • Produce & process non-conformance analysis for root cause identification.

  • Actively contribute to the investigations leading to the granting of concessions from our suppliers if and when they arise.

  • To conduct incoming inspection on required products. 

  • Escalation point for closure of returned products requiring building of relationships with WIKA manufacturing facilities, external suppliers and customers.

  • Assistance in the management of customer complaints and Implementation of resulting corrective actions.

  • To complete customer requests for annual re-certification, either supply of relevant certification and/or completion of customer questionnaires.

  • Support the Quality Manager in monitoring and progressing quality assurance and quality control programs and produce reports relating to non-conformance.

  • Ensure all quality records are fully completed.

  • To create a plan involving all WIKA UK qualified auditors and conduct internal and supplier audits and to oversee closure of any resulting actions this may require some U.K. travel.

  • Work with the supply chain and internal teams to ensure up to date ISO status and monitoring of performance and to authorise addition / removal of approved suppliers.

  • To arrange and host customer audits at the Merstham site.

  • To create, support the creation of or help to improve work instructions, procedures and forms that form the quality management system.

  • Promote company vision, values and reputation with all staff, customers, suppliers, partners.

  • Work with the Quality & Continuous Improvement Manager on other projects and assignments where appropriate.

  • To ensure the most efficient and effective methods and practices are used for all aspects of the job.

  • Working within the Quality Management System (QMS) framework, complying with procedures, company guidelines and H&S policy at all times.



Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in a quality environment including ability to read and understand technical drawings.

  •  Experience in working in a manufacturing organisation.

  • Qualified internal auditor by recognised registrar.

  • Analytical; detail oriented.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Demonstrate strong work ethic and requesting assistance as needed.

  • Experience of 8D reporting or equivalent and working within quality systems i.e. ISO9001.

  • Organised & skilled in time management, able to effectively prioritise and manage workloads.

  • Expert computer skills i.e. Microsoft Windows: outlook, excel, word and PowerPoint.

  • Good customer orientation skills and be a team player with ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers. 



  • HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Lead auditor qualification / experience.

  • Understanding of ATEX/PED and other relevant CE considerations.

  • Inspection experience.

  • Experience of pressure and/or temperature instrumentation

JOB OVERVIEW:                The Quality Coordinator will manage many aspects of quality in a full time capacity with the aim at maintaining and improving the companies quality performance, this will be achieved by conducting pre-defined duties and developing improved systems to enhance the abilities of the quality department and will also entail activities that affect all WIKA UK sites.
